Graffiti Art and the Summer Olympics

Underground artist Bansky created three semi controversial images circling around the Summer Olympics starting today. Not only is he using graffiti, which authorities have tried to stop, but also the nature of the images portray issues within the world today.

Such as in child labor laws:

a High Jumper catapulting himself over a barbed wire fence to “freedom”:

and a Javelin being upgraded to a missile:

Bansky’s work doesn’t always evolve around controversial issues (though most of the time they do). Here are some more pieces of his work.
